*Knowledge is gained throughout a student’s enrollment by way of learner friendly lesson plans that
cover the course outline topics listed below.
*Education is taught through; Theory: text book reading, exams and Lectures along with taking notes. Practical skill: hands on training with manikins for real world services experience along with training in the student salon.*Outline for the NYSED's approved 1000 clock hour Cosmetology course.
The Cosmetology Curriculum topics/course outline below includes training for the NYS written and practical exams.
*The cosmetology license within NYS will allow a graduate to hold an umbrella license; meaning this license permits a NYS hair stylist ability to perform hair services, nail services, facials and waxing.
Professional Requirements 24 hours * Safety and Health 26 hours *Anatomy and Physiology 15 hour *Hair, Scalp Disorders and Diseases 10 hours *Hair Analysis 10 hours *Chemistry as Applied to Cosmetology 5 hours *Shampoo, Rinses, Conditions and Treatments 30 hours *Hair Cutting and Shaping 175 hours *Hair Styling 245 hour *Chemical Restructuring 180 hour *Hair Coloring and Lighting 180 hours *Nail Care and Procedures 40 hours *Skin Care and Procedures 60 hours.
*Graduation Requirements; A cosmetology student upon completing
the 1000 clock hour’s course will receive a Certificate of Completion their 6 month temporary license, this will enable a graduate
student to start working immediately.
